Sport is proven to have an amazing positive effect on the development of not only kids, but everyone in a community. Skills such as teamwork, trust, confidence and discipline can be learned from sport, not to mention that it provides unrivalled health benefits. However, in many countries across the world the benefits of sport are not recognised and for many, access to sporting opportunities, coaching and knowledge is limited.
Volunteers who join our sport development programs, such as our Cape Town project, get to use their passion for sport and the outdoors to build a love for sport in the underprivileged children they work with daily. Through creating training programs, educational games, competitions and healthy living workshops in a variety of facilities such as schools, foster homes and even after-school clubs, this exposes these children to sporting opportunities that we hope will help them grow into healthy adults and brighten their future opportunities.
