Many communities across the world suffer from poor access to quality education, both in rural and urban areas. Due to that, many children do not get the education they deserve, with their schools under staffed and under resourced.
Interns in the education and youth development area provide invaluable assistance to programs which aim to educate, empower and enhance the lives of those not able to access quality education, from rural communities in Tanzania and Zambia to young offenders in Cape Town. As well as assisting with providing educational opportunities, interns also get involved in creating, facilitating and reviewing these programs to ensure they are having the maximum impact on local communities and thus, gain skills in program management, operations, marketing and more.
Working closely with teams on the ground, interns get an opportunity to contribute to the education and support of young people to better prepare them for their future and also gain practical work experience to enhance their resumes.
